Weekend Coffee Share 23/09/2017

So I heard that right, there was a knock on my door! I didn’t expect you to come an visit, really what a surprise! Come on in it’s so good to see you!

If we were having coffee on this very beautiful first official Saturday of Autumn then we would be sitting on the ground on nice fluffy sheep skins (sorry if you are vegan or a vegetarian then you can sit on the ground a chair) surrounded by stuffed animals. The ground is the safest place for the boy to be at the moment, and there is no sofa. Continue reading “Weekend Coffee Share 23/09/2017”

Blogging Announcements

IMG_5475Once again this year in blogging has started out less consistent  than I had hoped it to be. I have my reasons…

Still, this does not keep me from having some projects for this blog.

First of all, on Sunday I am starting something completely new…

There will be an interview with an author!

Up until now I have not interviewed any authors, I have in the past done interviews with musicians and with ambassadors, central bankers and European civil servants. I also had the opportunity to be present at an interview with a German politician back in 2005 when I was doing an internship at the Economist in Germany. So I am now getting back into something I really enjoy doing.

I hope that this interview will be the first of many! I also want to do features on blogs and places on the internet that I enjoy.

On the 12th of March my blog will turn two. As March has a big event in store for my family, I am not sure that I will be spending a lot of time online. But I am hoping to put up some posts linking back to the posts that I have cherished most in my two years on WordPress.

Then if I can manage to prepare my posts I will be participating in this year’s edition of the A to Z Challenge. It is going to be a bit more complicated than it was last year though, as I am not sure that I will be able to provide links to my posts on a daily basis. But some of my posts are already written (on paper).

The Winds of Change and Continuity

The Winds of Change and Continuity

Windmill

Jean-Jacques rolled up the sails of his windmill, made sure that everything was in order before he headed home after a very long day.

A strong wind had woken him during the night, a wind like he was lucky to have once or twice per year. Not too strong, as too strong winds could be problematic, even catastrophic, but strong enough to grind as much grain as he would normally be able to do in two weeks time. If we were having coffee – 16 April 2016

Hello come on in! Would you like to have a nice cup of tea? And what about some fruit? Little one and I went to the market this morning and bought some fruit for the weekend (it won’t last longer than that).

If we were having coffee, then I would ask you how your week has been. Did you do anything exciting? Do you have any thing planned for the weekend, the week to come?

Solveig's MugIf we were having coffee, then I would tell you about my past week. Last Sunday my best friend came to visit. We spend a lot of time talking about my mom, kids, work, our childhood memories and other things. S was so kind and cooked us a Gratin Dauphinois and we had a good salad and steamed leeks, maybe one day I’ll share some recipes… All four of us went for a good walk in the park, little one and I actually went for two on Sunday as it was such a beautiful day. G is for Goals #AtoZChallenge

G is for Goals

As the A to Z Challenge continues some of my goals for the days, weeks and months to come are starting to be clearer. I did do a guest post on the subject of my goals earlier this year. Due to some not so positive things happening in my personal life since the beginning of the year, I have not been able to concentrate fully on those resolutions.

Now, it is time for me to refocus on my goals, set new ones and more forward! Continue reading “G is for Goals #AtoZChallenge”

If we were having coffee – 23/01/2016

Time flies at the moment doesn’t it? But not like a young bird learning to use it’s wings, no, like a concorde airplane. It is already the 3rd 4th coffee share of this year. I told you time flies!

If we were having coffee, then I would ask you how you are doing. I must confess that I did manage to catch up with my comment answering backlog, just to fall behind again. I have been reading posts here and there. I have not been “allowed” to use the computer as much as I would have liked, I think that I just jinxed myself… In short at the moment it is not all that easy to get some me or writing time.
