A Book and An Angel – #weeklysmile

I have been a bit absent from blogging over the last few days. I was traveling over the weekend, this means that I will be doing some travel posts soon.

Yesterday morning, I opened my letter box and found a marvellous surprise, a small parcel. Without opening it I already knew what was inside and could not stop smiling. Deborah Bryant had send me her book The Monster’s Daughter. She dedicated it to me with such sweet words, authors’ inscriptions are the best. Currently I am reading a different book, but I will probably pick up hers after that. Today, Deborah made me smile again. She had written a post about who she is, entitled I am, inspired by my post Who am I? Up to now, 4 bloggers have linked back to my initial post, I think that’s worth quite a few smiles… I hope that more and more people will join.

A smile rarely comes alone, this morning I came across an angel. When I saw this stain on the table I did smile:

I don’t know if you can see it too, or if you saw something different, but for me it is an angel. What do you see?

Some very good smiles there. The stain looks like an angel with a trumpet. Not a trumpet like M8iles Davis played, but a long, straight horn. I liked Deborah’s “I am” post. I hope you get many, many more linking back to your original post. last year i had tried to read books by fellow bloggers. i think i read almost a dozen before I stopped. If you like it I may pick up a copy of The Monsters Daughter. Thanks for the smiles 🙂

I hope you enjoy the book … and that you don’t toss it in the garbage if you do! I love a thought of it sitting on a shelf on a different continent, though I know the story and its telling will not be for everyone. 🙂

Thanks for the inspiration for this morning’s post! A couple of hours aftet posting, WordPress alerted me it’s the five-year anniversary of this blog.”I am” was perfect to mark such a day, even if it was accidental!

  I will read it soon, I am currently still immersed in a book by another blogger. If I don’t like it I will keep it anyways, it’s dedicated to me by the author!!
  5 years! Congratulations! I got an alert in the summer that I have been on WP for 6 years, I must have created my account in 2009 but only started using it last March.

Loved the angel on the table and well spotted. Sounds like you’re developing a great eye for spotting things. Making storiers out of those “spottings” too.
I will have to go back and find your Who am I post. I think I glanced at it and became distracted.
I wrote a poem about living with my illness yesterday which became a bit of a Who am I ? As well as a “who are you? Why are you here? I was really pleased with it but it’s very intense. Shows I haven’t quite forgiven it yet.
These health issues really find it difficult for me to understand my self and pluck myself away from them and their symptoms. However, I’m not really sure that we can be separated and that we have become one. I don’t know. More thought required.
Hope you are having a great week. Still stressful here working out the new schedule and adding doctor’s appointments and the dentist to the mix but we’re doing well.

  Rowena, I’ll have to go an read your post. I sometimes miss some posts, especially with being away for a weekend I start being behind with my reading of favourite blogs 🙂
  I do hope that one day you will overcome the mental and physical pain your health has caused you and still causes.
  I keep my eyes open, I guess it is the writer’s eye that is always on the lookout for inspiration.
