N is for Nothing – A to Z Challenge April 2015

No, I was not going to use the word nothing to write nothing in this post. I am actually interested in what nothing means, how the concept of nothing works.

  1. Does nothing exist?
  2. Or can nothing exist?
  3. How can we define nothing?
  4. Do we actually know what nothing is?

If I would have written nothing for this post, wellyou would all say: “her post contains nothing”. fair enough.

If someone tells you that they are good at nothing, then there is a problem. Because they must be good at something, it might just be a skill that no one sees as such.

When you open a box and say: “there is nothing there”. Are you so sure of what you are saying? There must be something, such as dust particles, colours, bacteria, air, I don’t know something is always there.

Or when we say: “I am thinking about nothing.” Then it does not work out, because you are thinking about nothing, thus about something (even if this something is the absence of things), right?

I have to try to answer my questions:

  1. At least the word nothing exists.
  2. I have the feeling that true nothing cannot exist.
  3. As the absence of everything, and anything.
  4. Probably not.

      1. Yes I do. For example, if someone asks me “What are you doing?” I say, “Nothing.” It’s funny thinking about it now because it doesn’t make any sense lol
