If we were having coffee, then I would be so happy to see you again, after all, last week I completely missed our coffee date. The A to Z Challenge ended last Saturday, and I did not find the time in the day to blog.
If we were having coffee, then we would be talking about this and that. Maybe I would show you the huge rash on my leg and back that kept me from sleeping a few nights ago, it’s become a lot better. And I have an appointment with my GP on Wednesday (I booked that before I had my problem, so when I wanted to change dates and have one this week, there was no more space). I initially wanted to go for my back as the x-rays I did a few weeks ago showed that there is a problem and for my feet that have a skin problem which my podiatrist could not identify. Ah, it’s complicated. I was a bit freaked out by the rash. At first, I had a backache which I thought was linked to my up to now undiagnosed back problem, then this backache started to evolve into my left kidney hurting last Sunday and Monday, with the kidney pain the rash appeared. On Monday I was almost incapable of doing anything, still I did work with two different clients, a total of 3 students. The rash kept growing but only on the left side, left leg and left lower back. Once it spread onto the back it kept me from sleeping. Now it’s drying up and not that painful anymore, my back does not hurt nor does my kidney. I really hope that my doctor will be able to figure out what it is, especially since skin problems are best diagnosed when there is an eruption.
If we were having coffee, I’d decide that I have been talking way too much about my health now. I am so grateful that since yesterday it’s definitely warm enough to wear a dress or a skirt, which is great for helping the rash dry.
Little one and I have been outside for much of the week. Once May 1st came along, some switch was flicked and it suddenly became summer. On Sunday we had a nice family picnic in the park, I actually wrote a short story while outside. A few days later we recreated this experience, but in the evening eating Pizza Hut pizza’s by the sandbox while little one played. She then enjoyed the almost empty nocturnal park and discovered the sensation of walking on grass barefoot.
If we were having coffee, and if you are a fellow blogger, then we’d probably chat about blogging and writing. This week I almost fell off the blogging planet. As I have been working a bit more I try to make the most of the time I have with both S and little one. Quite often when S is home from work I am out of the house working, I do have some students who come to my house, which does make life easier. On Monday little one had some exclusive time with her Opa (my dad), which I think was very good for both of them. So when I am not working I am most likely snuggling little one (she is super demanding at the moment, but I cannot complain as she is very cooperative during my lessons) outside or trying to have some time with little one and S or just with S. The other day when I was trying to type little one held on to my thumbs to make me stop. I did sign up for StoryADay in May, but I must confess that this first week has been tough, meaning that there has not been a story a day. I wrote a few stories, and one actually seems to be more than just a story, I want to make it into a novella or novel. I am writing all of those stories in my notebook, so not many will make it onto the blog unless they are part of writing prompts.
If we were having coffee, then I would ask you if you have had a look at M.L. Kappa’s guest post for Discovering Traditions? She wrote a beautiful post on the May Day celebrations in Greece.
I would also ask you if you have some plans for the weekend. Do you have any plans? Then I would send you over to Diana’s blog, as she’s the lovely host of the #WeekendCoffeeShare, and tell you to read her post and those of the other participants.
Have a great weekend! I am about to go outside 🙂

Hi Solveig, I am sorry you are having health issues. You don’t have shingles do you, it’s weird that it would be on one side and so painful. I hope you begin to feel better. We are doing well here besides a slew of car issues that require expensive repairs, I guess that is the problem with driving foreign cars – all of them are German (but I wouldn’t drive anything else). Oh well. Other than that things are good. I survived another A-Z challenge and am thinking about pressing on with my second book.
Have a wonderful Mother’s Day (well tomorrow is Mother’s Day in the US).
Get better!!!!!!

Thank you my friend. That would give chickenpox to my daughter wouldn’t it?
My mother in law had shingles before I knew her, after chemo therapy and even the doctors took ages to diagnose it.
I guess that German cars rarely need repairs, but when they do, it does get costly.
Happy Mother’s day to you too! It will be mother’s day in Germany too, in France it won’t be till the last Sunday of May. It was actually Father’s day on Thursday in Germany, it always falls onto ascension day.
I am already looking forward to reading that second book!

Sorry to hear of your rash! I hope it clears up and is nothing too serious. I myself think I’m getting the stomach virus going around my school. I’m glad you get to spend so much time outside! It’s been raining for over and week and it’s supposed to continue another week here so I’m feeling anxious to get outside myself!

Sorry you’ve had pain and a rash, I hate rashes, they are always scary.
I had similar issues especially the back pain/kidney pain when I had a kidney infection. It was the worst pain I’d ever had, as I had “kidney colic” with it definitely worse than giving birth.
I hope your GP can help you and give you some advice. Hope you feel better ❤

I’m glad you are seeing the doctor soon. Hopefully he will be able to shed light on the various issues going on in your body. How very frustrating.

Sorry to hear about rash, Solveig. I hope it’s subsiding by now? Jasmin has been poorly all this week and has some slight rash too, but I think it’s a part of the virus. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon! Congratulations again on surviving A to Z challenge. I now understand why they are talking about ‘survivors’! 🙂

Sorry about your rash. Hope you find out the cause. I find using loose clothing helps with itch. A dermatologist once told me a wet towel will help the rash. I hope both find answer this week.
