Y is for You
“Where do you come from?” He asked gazing at her.
“I come from wherever you would like me to come from, as for I have no origin nor precise destination!” she replied.
“You, you, you know?” he stuttered, turing a bit red in the face, “you confuse me!”
“Do I?”
“Yes, you do!” he felt her eyes capturing his.
In silence they looked at one another, she had captured his ever wandering gaze.
“Who are you?” he inquired, feeling how he would no longer be able to cast a look at another woman than her.
“You will find out!” she answered in a sweet tone.
“So what are you?” he added in desperation, not knowing what to make of this strange creature.
“Aha!” she examined. “You sure want to know everything. I am young! I am yearning for more! I am someone who shows an interest in you!”
“You are mysterious!” he concluded.
“So are you!”
“Thank you!” he muttered, with a smile growing on his face, he was trying hard not to crack up.
“Shhh, you will wake the kids” she put her finger on his lips.
“Love, we really have a strange story of how you and I met!” his eyes were gleaming with love.
“I know!” she grew silent.
Then added: “that’s why we like to recall our conversation ever so often. I love you!”
“I love you too!” he said switching off the light.

Your first sentence made me smile because this is what I’ve been asked on a regular basis since I left France.
But then I fell for this short love story.

Oh thank you Evelyne 🙂
Once we have moved from one place to another, and more often if we have changed countries, this question seems to be an evergreen.
