L is for Leaving – A to Z Challenge April 2015

“Another kiss, just one before you leave me!” she heard Peter shout one last time, but it was too late, she was leaving him behind, it was over.

A few hours earlier Nora was crying. She was sitting on Peter’s bed, packing her old-fashioned suitcase. Looking up, she saw Peter standing in the door, he was smiling at her.

“How can you smile? How can you be happy in a moment like this one?”, she sobbed.

His smile grew wider, “because I trust you, I trust us. You are leaving me, yes, but I know that you love me!”

Her wet eyes flickered with a slight smile, “I trust you too, Peter, dear. But I do not want to leave you.”

Peter heaved her suitcase into the train, checked his watch and exclaimed: “Oh no, your train is leaving in just a moment!” He jumped back out of the train, “Another kiss, just one before you leave me!” she heard Peter shout one last time, but it was too late, she was leaving him behind, it was over.

She was devastated, and happy. In five days she was coming back and this time forever, as she was moving in.

You must know about the feelings that “Leaving” trigger, right? Moving in means leaving a place for another, after all.

I did not even think of it from that perspective. I was thinking about separated lovers, but you are right that definitely is an aspect too.
