You are unique!

just like this stone in my hand.

At least as beautiful as a beautiful flower.

just like this hallucinogenic mushroom.

like lines left behind by autumn leaves…

You are special!
You are different!

Believe in yourself!

Spread those wings, open your heart and learn to fly!

Each of us is unique and I love it that now we are encouraged to embrace your uniqueness. Parents and teachers make sure that children know that there is only one like them.
Amazingly, not so long ago, I was raised by loving parents and caring teachers who didn’t foster this uniqueness. We (my sisters, cousins and classmates) were told that we weren’t that special and should never put ourselves on a pedestal believing that we were unique. It wasn’t so long ago and yet it seemed another world.
