Are you still here?

Are you still here? Are you still reading my posts?

I have an ambiguous relationship with my blog and blogging habit. When I started blogging in 2016, I might have taken blogging a bit too seriously. Taking on challenges whenever I could, but it became a lifeline. At the time my daughter was one year old and two months into my blogging adventure, my mom received her cancer diagnosis. I did not have the energy to work much, but blogging did give me a greater sense of purpose.

Over the years my posts became scarcer and scarcer and my writing in my notebooks became less too. Two kids and finally having found serious footing in my work life left little time for blogging. I do also think that I did experience something of a blogging burnout. How many posts did I read, comment on besides writing my own posts? How many of your comments did I reply to? It all became a bit overwhelming, and I just left my blog rest in the sidelines.

Now, I really, really want to write more. Find the time to sit down and let my pen run across the empty pages. I have projects, but as you might know, once you have the time to work on them, the inspiration is hiding behind the dirty dishes. I just looked through my posts from 10 years ago. I had such a lovely community back then, thus I am asking if you are still there. 10 years ago, Paris became a victim of a terrorist attack left us shaken and shaking for months. Even though my memory is still quite vivid, I wanted to recall what I wrote in the direct aftermath. In a way my blog was like a public diary for me, but that also showcases a lot of short stories.

I have some professional and creative (writing) projects that are sprouting in my head, as if it were a forgotten castle garden covered with uncontrollable but lovely plants. Are you keen to find out more?

And most importantly are you still here? Because I do realise now, that I was able to build up quite a lovely and cool community around my writing.

Maybe I’ll join a coffee post soon, but not making any promises.

      Hey,
Oh it is so great to read from you.
The washing really is a bad excuse, as I do have a dishwasher that does most of the dirty work for me on that side 😅
      Thank you for stopping by.

Yes, I’m still here, and still hanging around with Willowdot, too. It’s great to hear from you again. I’ve just got a new kitchen, with a dishwasher. It’s wonderful… but as I don’t have a family to care for, it never stopped me blogging…the washing up just kept piling up instead!

      I know, i know it’s a really bad excuse …
Happy to say that I wrote 4 pages in a notebook while in a café for half an hour. Removing myself from my home and work environment does seem to be very efficient (not so good for blogging though).
