After my parents had packed us up and moved us to the US, my mom was suddenly facing a pile of papers from our schools. She spent the first weeks next to her dictionary (there was no deepL or Google Translate to help her in the year 2000) trying to figure out if the raffle night paper was important or not, and if she had to get us a medical certificate for a mandatory activity. When we arrived in France three years later, my parents thought, “we’ll manage with English”, well I found my dad trying to figure out if the product he had just bought was what he needed (and he read the dutch text, which might be closer to German than French but when it comes to cleaning drains isn’t really helpful either), my mom had to call a plumber, in French while speaking no French.
If you are in Paris (or close-by) and need some help with various daunting admin tasks, then I might be able to help you. What is my experience? I have myself been through some admin, getting my social security number, creating my own business (and moving it from one region to another- a very bad idea), and I have quite often helped friends and family with their admin troubles, ranging from going to the sécurité sociale with them to calling their insurance.
