He Knows When You are Sleeping by Trent P. McDonald | Advent 2018 Day 11

He Knows When You are Sleeping

By Trent P. McDondald

You awake up there?

Of course! How could I sleep tonight?

What time is it?

11:52. Eight minutes until midnight.

So Santa will be here in eight minutes.

What? You think Santa enters every house at exactly midnight?  Ha!

Why not?

There are hundreds of houses in this town alone.  And thousands in our state.  Millions in our time zone.  And he enters all of them at the exact same second?  How does he do that?  Go down millions of chimneys at once?  Split himself into millions of Santas?

Christmas Traditions by Kelli King | Advent 2018 Day 6

Christmas Traditions

By Kelli King

I love Christmas music. I especially love songs that make me imagine what Christmas is like in other places. My top places to imagine spending Christmas have always been New York City, London, Paris, some enchanting village in Ireland or Germany, and more recently, I found out that Strasbourg, France, has a very famous Christmas market. these are all pretty exotic places, and I may well spend Christmas in some of them as a tourist in the future. But they will never be mine. My own hometown suffers from a relative lack of charm, so that may contribute to my desire to see Christmases elsewhere. “We can buy some, but none of the stores are open,” said Jerry.

Letters to Santa by Solveig Werner | Advent 2018 Day 2 – 1st Sunday of Advent

Letters to Santa

by Solveig Werner

The postal elve frowned. Something like this had never happened to him since he started his long career many years ago.

He called his colleague without taking his eyes of the two neatly written letters on his desk, “Cristel, come and look at this!”

“What is it, Sam?” Cristel asked, whilst jotting down some presents that should be given to the kids whose letters were scattered on her desk.

Chocolate Countdown by Tara Paray | Advent 2018 Day 1

Chocolate Countdown By Tara Paray As this Advent Calendar blog series gets underway (again! — yay!) and Advent for Christians starts tomorrow, I’m beginning my countdown today with a very special calendar. I’ve had Advent calendars made of paper with little date windows you open. I’ve also had the kind that hang on the wall, felt or some other fabric, with tiny dated pockets a … Continue reading Chocolate Countdown by Tara Paray | Advent 2018 Day 1
