G is for Goals
As the A to Z Challenge continues some of my goals for the days, weeks and months to come are starting to be clearer. I did do a guest post on the subject of my goals earlier this year. Due to some not so positive things happening in my personal life since the beginning of the year, I have not been able to concentrate fully on those resolutions.
Now, it is time for me to refocus on my goals, set new ones and more forward!
- Blogging
- A to Z Challenge
- finish the challenge without stress and with a post per day
- reply to all of those lovely comments, sorry I am behind
- visit as many new blogs as I can, (I have realised that very often I cannot read more than 3-4 posts in a row)
- leave many comments, likes and share on twitter, follow new blogs
- Guest posting
- have the possibility to do some guest posts in 2016
- have more guests for Discovering Traditions, more on that here, so do you have a tradition to share?
- Interviews and profiles
- I have always enjoyed doing interviews, and trust me I have interviewed a a lot of people (musicians, European officials, ambassadors, journalists). Thus I would like to start doing interviews with bloggers, writers, artists, entrepreneurs on my blog, if you are interested, then let me know
- I will soon start doing little profiles, of blogs or Instagram accounts, small businesses, I have one coming up in May, which in a way is a commissioned job for my sister 🙂
- Take my blog to the next level
- my blog is a quite time consuming hobby, that I treat as more than just a hobby, thus I am eying ways to monetise (affiliation, sponsors), without my blog loosing it’s soul, it would actually enable me to focus a bit more on blogging
- maybe self-hosting will be a future step, but that one scares me
- A to Z Challenge
- Writing
- Write regularly for my blog
- Work on my book that I started for NaNoWriMo
- Work on my collection of short stories
- Art
- Continue painting regularly – you might have noticed that many of my A to Z posts have been accompanied by a water colour painting
- get my hands a bit dirty with other forms of art (sculpting, charcoals etc)
- Work
- German lessons
- Finally do my German lessons page in English for this blog…
- Start teaching on skype
- Find more students /be found by them – tell people that I am looking for students at the moment
- Look into doing online courses that I can record in advance (that will be after A to Z)
- Writing (yes it has been mentioned above, but this is work related writing)
- write for clients – find clients/be found by clients
- look into freelance journalism gigs
- German lessons
- Other things
- Spend a lot of time with my daughter, now that she is starting to water paint herself we have a new activity we share
- Spend a lot of quality time with S
- Have some amazing family moments
Now, this is probably only a very small portion of my goals, but it is already long enough…
Gourmet gnome Gorgio grinned greedily at great Greta Gabriel in Göttingen, Germany.
During the month of April, I am participating in the A to Z Challenge, my theme is authenticity and eclecticism, which in my book go hand in hand.
Thank you for reading! If you enjoyed this post, then please feel free to leave a comment, to share it on social media and to follow my blog and twitter @SolveigJ

Ditto Anabel! Always good to have goals I hope you have fun doing it, especially the ones that scare you

Ah the scary ones are there so that I know that I should do them, but those are generally avoided for as long as possible, I guess that’s not the best way to go about it.

Oh my. I look like a slacker next to your list. I got tired just reading it.

Oh having a list and keeping to it are two things… Maybe you have just a lot more things crossed off than I do?

No, most of the time I forget where I put my list and start all over. LOL

That is an ambitious list of goals, but I like it. As a freelancer AND blogger, I think share some of the same dreams. (My years-old NaNoWriMo manuscript has been gathering dust, even as I’ve published other books in the meantime.)
Visiting from the A-Z Challenge. I’m doing it with seven of my blogs this year.
Here are three of them:
Heart of a Ready Writer
Kicking MS to the Curb
Working in Words
Happy A-Z!

Ah maybe then I should let that manuscript rest longer and move on to a new project, might be better. 7 blogs?! that is a lot of A to Z posts that you’ll have to do…
I guess you are a freelance writer? Do you have any advice in that field?
