If we were having coffee 28 November 2015

IMG_3829 If we were having coffee, then I would tell you that I am about to step outside, to go to my parents’ apartment to see my family. So that means that I won’t be around much.

Yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving, it was great with a lot of good food. Today the celebration continues, we will be visiting Paris, not sure what yet. And eating a lot of food, hey it’s Thanksgiving… So that means I might actually have you join me for coffee in a café this week.

If we were having coffee I’d ask you about your Thanksgiving. How was it? Then I’d ask you about your plans for the week to come and for December.

Then our focus would shift to blogging. I’d tell you that I posted my first ever feminism post on Friday, about bad teachers… I’d be proud that I am managing quite well with NanoPoblano, after this post goes up I have 2 more to go.

Then I’d tell you that for the first 24 days of December my blog will be turned into an advent calendar. I have already quite a few people who agreed to participate with something related to Christmas/winter holidays. But I am still looking for more, the more the merrier… Would you like to share a holiday story on my blog? It can be a memory, telling about your traditions, sharing a cookie recipe, a short story, your book’s characters celebrating Christmas, really anything, the limit is your imagination! I’d love to have someone share their traditions of no Christian celebrations such as Hanukah. Oh and I still have no male contributors.

Ok gotta run, make sure you head to Diana’s bog Part-Time Monster to check out her hostess post and the linkup of all the others.

Have a great weekend!

            1. even a beautiful picture of Glasgow’s Christmas decorations would be a great contribution. Or a reflection on how Christmas has changed during your life…

              1. I usually post somewhere each Christmas about the gift of reading i.e. getting books to children who don’t have any. Would that be acceptable? Understand if you don’t want anything that looks like a charity appeal, but I’m not pushy about it, just mention possibilities.

  1. If you don’t mind an older story, I can contribute to your December posts. Let me know and I will come up with one. They are already published on my blog from previous years so they are done. I would just need to re-read them and possibly edit a tiny bit. Let me know! I have time now.

  2. Oh, I’m glad you mentioned Friday’s post, because I missed out on pretty much everything Friday. I’ll have to pop over and give it a read.

I’m so looking forward to reading the December posts around here! I love learning about what people do for holidays, be it big or small. 🙂

      1. If you are going to celebrate an American holiday, Thanksgiving is the one. I’m not sure what I’d write if I did participate. Well, OK, I’ll do it, but put me pretty far into the schedule so I have a week or two to think about it.

    1. No it isn’t too late, I did celebrate all weekend, and still have a lot of good thanksgiving food to eat up. It was great, just that I am in need for rest now 🙂

Even if it is the summer holiday, do you want to participate? I don’t mind if you don’t celebrate Christmas (maybe you celebrate something else)/don’t have a Christmas story to tell if you can share something you think of at this time of the year? I’d be glad to have you, and as I said to Trent, I still have space for 4 to 5 people.

  4. Hi Solveig,
I would love to contribute. A post about Christmas in Australia would be a possibility. The best way to contact me is at rowenanewton at outlook.com I don’t ever check my commenting email. xx Ro

      1. I am yet to find one anywhere apart from a postage stamp.
After our discussion last week about caution on the metro, I had a scare on the train last Friday when there was an unattended package on the train. I’ve written about it on my coffee share. I laugh about it now but it was stressful. Take care xx Ro
